Coaching and Neurofeedback
Your brain naturally knows what it needs to do in order to balance its own activity and
function better. You do not have to do anything while all this is happening. It is all right
to close your eyes and "zone out" and just let your brain do its job. The training on the
computer usually lasts about 35 minutes.
How will you feel afterwards? Because NeurOptimal® is noninvasive and does not push the brain in any “direction” during training, it is highly unlikely you will feel any side effects following a session. Any noticeable shifts in your mood, awareness or energy level after brain training really depends on the individual and can vary from session to session.
First, your neurofeedback trainer will spend about 15 minutes asking
questions related to symptoms, purpose of training, and/or progress.
Then a handful of tiny, lightweight sensors are placed on your scalp
and ears. These sensors are connected to a computerized system
that measures your EEG activity. While you are listening to relaxing
music - or watching a movie if you are a child, the system gives your
brain feedback. You may notice very brief interruptions in the sound.
These pauses are the auditory feedback that your brain interprets as
a signal to regulate itself. They happen at a particular time of brain
activity and allow your brain to return to the present and to stability.
